The ride on the listed funicular railway takes you directly to the plateau, where a spectacular panoramic view over the state capital and the Rhine Valley awaits you. At the top, the magnificent Russian Church with its gold domes visible from afar and the well-maintained park areas invite you to relax and linger, while small cafés serve refreshments in an upscale atmosphere. It is best to plan your visit for the morning to explore the grounds in peace and return to the ship in the early afternoon, relaxed and in good time before departure.
The way back from the splendid city center to the pier in Wiesbaden-Biebrich is straightforward and relaxed, thanks to short distances and very good public transport connections.
Taxi
You can find taxi stands directly at the Schlossplatz in the heart of the city, as well as at the Kurhaus and the main train station (Hauptbahnhof). A ride to the Rhine riverbank takes about 10 to 15 minutes and brings you comfortably right to your ship's berth at Biebrich Palace (Biebricher Schloss).
Public Bus Service
Bus lines 4 and 14 run at frequent intervals between the central Dernsches Gelände stop in the city center and the Rhine riverbank. Simply get off at the Rheinufer or Schloss Biebrich stop, and you will reach the gangway in just a few moments after a short walk along the water.
On Foot
Within the district of Biebrich, you can enjoy a relaxed stroll through the extensive palace park (Schlosspark) directly to the riverbank. Thanks to the highly visible palace facade, you can easily find your way to the ship at any time.
