Pöstlingbergbahn
The historic Pöstlingbergbahn, considered one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world, starts directly from the Hauptplatz. A ride on this special mountain railway is comfortable and takes you directly to the Pöstlingberg, Linz's local mountain, from where you can enjoy an impressive panorama over the entire city and the Danube Valley.
Taxi
Official taxis are available at the nearby Hauptplatz as well as at marked stands in the city center. In addition, vehicles can be ordered directly to the terminal, allowing you a fast and flexible onward journey to more distant destinations or to the main railway station.
Since the berths are centrally located on the Danube, it is recommended to explore the historic Old Town and the modern museums on the riverbank comfortably on foot or by mountain railway.

The Pöstlingberg is the magnificent landmark of Linz and can be easily reached from the cruise port by taking a short ten-minute walk to the Hauptplatz and boarding the historic Pöstlingbergbahn there. Once at the top, a spectacular panoramic view over the Danube Valley and the impressive Wallfahrtsbasilika await you, giving the place a very special atmosphere. The docking points in Linz are located very centrally on the Danube promenade, allowing for a relaxed return directly from the heart of the city.
On Foot
The walk back is particularly easy and convenient thanks to the excellent location of the docking points directly on the Donaulände. From the central Hauptplatz, you can walk back to your ship in just a few minutes via the Rathausgasse or along the waterfront promenade, while enjoying the views of the Lentos Kunstmuseum and the Nibelungenbrücke.
Taxi
Taxis are available at all times at central stands such as the Hauptplatz or in front of the Landestheater and will bring you back to the pier in no time. If you are on the Pöstlingberg, the staff in the restaurants will be happy to call a car for a direct ride to the port and also ensure a punctual transfer directly to the gangway.
Public Transport
The modern trams of the Linzer Linien run at short intervals and connect the most important sights as well as the main train station directly with the Hauptplatz stop. From this central hub, the short path to the docking points at the Brucknerhaus or the Arcotel Nike is excellently signposted and will lead you safely and punctually back on board.
