Port Denarau is the exclusive gateway to the Fijian islands and the vibrant tourist center of the main island, Viti Levu. The modern marina impresses with a luxurious flair, lined with first-class resorts, elegant yachts, and a lively promenade featuring numerous boutiques and top-tier restaurants. Highlights in the immediate vicinity include the Big Bula Waterpark, the renowned Denarau Golf & Racquet Club, and the colorful Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple in neighboring Nadi. Cruise passengers usually reach the Port Denarau Terminal comfortably by tender boat, from where the city center, about six kilometers away, can be reached easily in just a few minutes thanks to short taxi rides or the local Bula Bus.

Port Denarau in Fiji is a conveniently accessible starting point for cruises in the South Pacific thanks to its direct connection to Nadi International Airport. The modern marina area serves as a central hub for embarkation, where ships dock directly at the pier and passengers have immediate access to the shops and restaurants of the marina area.

Airplane

Nadi International Airport (NAN) is the nearest airport and is located only about 7.5 to 14 kilometers from Port Denarau. From the DACH region, you can reach Nadi with long-haul flights, usually with stopovers. Due to the long flight duration, it is recommended to arrive at least one day before the planned embarkation.

Transfer & Shuttle

From Nadi International Airport, you can comfortably reach the port by taxi or private transfer; the journey takes about 16 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. Numerous local providers offer shuttle services, and some cruise lines also offer free bus transfers from hotels in Nadi/Denarau/Wailoaloa to Port Denarau as part of their cruise packages. Access to the port is via Queens Road and Denarau Road, which lead directly to Denarau Island.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

For a relaxed start to your cruise, an overnight stay in one of the numerous resorts on Denarau Island is recommended, as they are located in the immediate vicinity of the port. Hotels such as the Sofitel, Sheraton, or Hilton offer luxurious amenities and are often within walking distance of the terminal or reachable with the practical Bula Bus. A large parking garage at Port Denarau Marina also offers parking for self-drivers, with the first hour being free and longer parking times subject to a fee (approx. FJ$3 for 1-3 hours, up to FJ$25 for a full day).

Please note that you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Taxi & Westbus

Official taxis are clearly visible waiting at the port exit and will take you quickly and safely to nearby Nadi. Additionally, the yellow Westbus offers an affordable and authentic connection to Nadi Market, with the stop located right at the terminal for convenient onward travel.

On Foot

The extensive Port Denarau Marina is excellent for exploring on foot and invites you to stroll with its numerous boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Within five to ten minutes from the pier, you can reach all the facilities of the modern complex as well as the adjacent promenades.

Returning to the ship

Returning to Port Denarau is extremely relaxed and safe thanks to the island's excellent infrastructure.

Bula Bus

The Bula Bus is the ideal choice for a comfortable ride from the surrounding resorts back to the harbor complex. These charming buses run at short intervals and take you directly to Port Denarau Marina, where the shops and the jetties for the tender boats are located.

Taxi

Taxis are available at all times at the main entrances of the large hotels as well as directly at the central taxi stand of the Port Denarau Shopping Center. Thanks to the short distances on Denarau Island, you can reach the harbor area quickly and easily, allowing for a perfectly timed return to the ship.

On Foot

The walk back on foot is particularly pleasant and safe thanks to the flat and well-maintained sidewalks along the main road of Denarau Island. From most of the island's resorts, you can stroll back to the harbor in about 10 to 20 minutes, simply following the clear signage towards the central Marina.
