Returning to the ship

Montego Bay is an ideal starting point for Caribbean cruises thanks to the nearby international airport and features a modern terminal in the Freeport district. The facility is located about five kilometers southwest of the city center and offers travelers an efficient infrastructure directly on the coast.

Airplane

Sangster International Airport (MBJ) serves as the most important hub for travelers from the DACH region and is, for example, served directly from Frankfurt am Main by Condor. Thanks to the short distance of only about eight kilometers to the cruise port, guests reach their ship in the shortest possible time after the approximately eleven-hour transatlantic flight.

Transfer & Taxi

From the airport, you can comfortably reach the terminal directly with the official shuttles of the cruise lines or licensed JUTA taxis. The journey via the well-developed coastal road A1 takes about 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic, with licensed vehicles being easily recognizable by their red license plates and corresponding seals from the tourism association.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the time difference and the long flight duration, we recommend arriving at least one day before embarkation in one of the numerous resorts on the famous Hip Strip or in the Rose Hall area. Many accommodations also support their guests with organized transfers to the port, thus enabling a completely relaxed start to the holiday under the Jamaican sun.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

Also during the voyage, the following applies: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
