Taxis can be found in large numbers at the central taxi rank on Eyre Square as well as directly in front of the Harbour Hotel at New Dock. The drivers will take you directly to the port entrance and will also be happy to help you find your way around on site.

From the bustling shopping street Quay Street, you can walk to the port grounds in about five to ten minutes, passing the famous Spanish Arch. The path leads along the waterfront promenade and is easy to find thanks to the good signage and the highly visible port facilities.
Shuttle Service and Boats
Should your ship lie at anchor in the bay, the tender boats operate regularly from the pier at the Galway Docks directly next to the city center. Thanks to the short distances from the city core to the pier, you can reach your means of transport comfortably and enjoy the return trip to the ship as a small harbor tour.
