The approximately 200-kilometer route from Auckland Airport to Tauranga can be covered in about 2.5 to 3 hours via State Highway 2 and State Highway 29. Shuttle Bus and Public Transport

If you have spent the day in the city center of Tauranga, use the practical shuttle buses provided by the cruise lines or local providers for a direct return trip to the ship. In addition, the local bus route 5 runs at regular intervals from Durham Street in Tauranga City and brings you reliably to the Salisbury Avenue stop directly at the port grounds.

Taxi

Available taxis are waiting at central locations such as Coronation Park or directly in front of the i-SITE Visitor Information Centre in Mount Maunganui. Thanks to the short distances within the port town, you will reach the terminal quickly and on time; for a return journey from Tauranga City, simply plan a relaxed time buffer for the traffic across the harbor bridge.
