The cruise port of Santa Cruz de La Palma impresses with its immediate proximity to the historic city center and is extremely easy to reach thanks to the clear structure of the Estación Marítima terminal. The journey is very straightforward for guests from the DACH region thanks to the short distances on the island and the well-developed infrastructure.

Airplane

The island's La Palma Airport (SPC) is located just eight kilometers south of the port and is regularly served by direct flights from major German airports such as Frankfurt, Munich, or Düsseldorf. In addition, there are frequent connecting flights via Madrid or the neighboring islands, so you can reach the terminal in a short travel time after landing.

Transfer & Taxi

From the airport, you can reach the ship directly by taxi in about 10 to 15 minutes, with the drive along the LP-2 coastal road offering a first beautiful view. Alternatively, bus line 500 runs every half hour between the airport and the capital Santa Cruz, from where the cruise terminal is easily accessible on foot.

Auto

Should you explore the island in advance with a rental car, the route via the well-developed main roads LP-1 from the north or LP-2 from the south leads directly to the port area. Public parking is available at the terminal, and many local car rental companies also offer the convenient return of the vehicle directly at the port.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan accordingly sufficient time for the journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The historic Balcones de la Avenida Marítima

The magnificent, flower-adorned wooden balconies on Avenida Marítima are the landmark of Santa Cruz de La Palma and, thanks to the marked "blue line" on the ground, are just a relaxed, ten-minute walk from the port exit. Along the seafront promenade and in the parallel main street Calle O’Daly, you can admire one of the most beautifully preserved old towns in the Canaries, which delights with its colonial flair and artistic facades. In the surrounding cozy cafes, you can also enjoy local specialties such as the famous "Barraquito" in an authentic atmosphere directly by the sea. It is best to visit the historic quarter in the morning to also experience the traditional market hall "La Recova" with its fresh regional products, and return to the ship relaxed through the picturesque alleys well before departure.

Returning to the ship

The return journey to the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma is very convenient thanks to the terminal's location near the city center and allows for a relaxed return to the ship.

On Foot

From the city center or the city beach Playa de Santa Cruz, you can walk comfortably along the wide waterfront promenade Avenida Marítima directly back to the port entrance. The paths are flat and designed to be safe, also offering a beautiful view of the coastline and your cruise ship.

Taxi

Central taxi ranks can be found at Plaza de la Constitución as well as on the busy main street Avenida El Puente in the immediate vicinity of the pedestrian zone. Additionally, vehicles are available at all times at the taxi rank near the market hall La Recova, which will take you directly to the pier in a few minutes.

Bus and Port Shuttle

If your ship is docked at the more distant berth Dique del Este, a free port shuttle will take you comfortably from the port exit directly to the gangway. Furthermore, the central bus station Estación de Guaguas is an important landmark, as it bundles all regional buses on the island and is within direct walking distance of the port entrance.
