Returning to the ship

Motu Tapu is an idyllic small island near Bora Bora and serves cruise ships as a picturesque excursion destination for unforgettable days in paradise. The actual embarkation for cruises in French Polynesia usually takes place in Papeete on Tahiti, the main arrival point for international guests from the DACH region. Due to the long journey, a relaxing pre-cruise overnight stay is highly recommended here.

Airplane

Tahiti Faa'a International Airport (PPT) is the hub for your journey to French Polynesia and is located only about 6 kilometers west of the cruise port of Papeete. International airlines offer regular connections, although direct flights from Europe usually involve layovers. Thanks to the good connections, you can easily reach your ship from here.

Transfer & Shuttle

From PPT airport, you can reach the port of Papeete quickly and easily. Taxis are available directly at the terminal and take about 15 to 20 minutes for the short distance. Many cruise lines also organize their own transfer services to bring passengers directly from the airport or a recommended pre-cruise hotel to the ship. Booking in advance ensures a smooth transition.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long international flights, arriving in Papeete at least one day before embarkation is highly recommended. Numerous hotels in and around Papeete are ideal for an overnight stay to start your cruise adventure relaxed. Many accommodations offer shuttle services to the port or are just a short taxi ride from the terminal, which significantly increases travel comfort.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for the journey to the port accordingly and bear in mind that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination area - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as port times and departure times can change at short notice.
