Osijek Airport (OSI) is the nearest airport, located approximately 20 to 23 kilometers from Aljmaš. The modern pilgrimage church "Gospa od Utočišta" is located directly in the center of the village and can be easily reached on foot from the ship pier in less than five minutes. As the most important Marian pilgrimage site in eastern Croatia, this architecturally extraordinary building is a place of peace and also offers fascinating insights into regional history and culture. Thanks to its location right on the Danube promenade, a visit can be perfectly combined with a stop at the small cafes, from which you can enjoy the view of the majestic river. Ideally, visit the site in the morning to fully experience the peaceful atmosphere, and plan your leisurely walk back to the ship about one hour before departure.

Returning to the ship

The way back to the ship in charming Aljmaš is particularly simple and stress-free due to the compact size of the village.

On Foot

From the modern pilgrimage church Crkva Gospe Aljmaške or the cozy cafes in the village center, you can walk directly down to the banks of the Danube in less than five minutes. The paths are paved and, thanks to the clear line of sight to the river, lead you safely back to the pier.

Taxi and Regional Bus

If you visit excursion destinations such as nearby Osijek, taxis or buses will bring you directly to the central square of the village. From there, the path to the port area is flat and can be covered easily and quickly.

Orientation on the Riverbank

The pier is located on the Riva waterfront promenade and is easily visible from almost any point in the lower village area. Simply orient yourself by the prominent bend in the river and use the paved access paths to get back on board punctually and relaxed.
