Cultural highlights include the historical fortress town of Stari Bar, the impressive Cathedral of Saint Jovan Vladimir, as well as the over 2,000-year-old "Stara Maslina," one of the oldest olive trees in the world. Cruise ships dock directly at the passenger terminal of Luka Bar, from which the modern city center, King Nikola's Palace, and the inviting beach are easily reachable in only about 15 minutes on foot.

Podgorica Airport (TGD) is located around 45 kilometers from the port and is regularly served by flights from cities such as Vienna, Berlin, or Frankfurt. From there, you can reach the terminal in about 50 minutes by taxi, rental car, or via organized shuttle services from the cruise lines, with the journey through the modern Sozina Tunnel comfortably shortening the route.
Train
Bar forms the endpoint of the spectacular Belgrade-Bar railway line, which is considered one of the most beautiful routes in Europe and leads travelers from the hinterland directly to the coast. Bar railway station is located just two kilometers from the port area, so the transfer to the ship is easily handled by taxi or a short shuttle service in a few minutes.

The port is easy to reach for self-drivers via the picturesque coastal road E65 and the well-developed national roads, offering guarded parking facilities in the immediate vicinity of the Port of Adria. For a particularly relaxed start to your vacation, we recommend arriving the day before, including an overnight stay in the hotels of the coastal city or in the neighboring seaside resort of Sutomore.

The modern city center and the extensive waterfront promenade can be reached after a relaxed walk of about 15 to 20 minutes. The flat path leads past the marina and invites you to make your first discoveries in the sunny port city.
Taxi
Numerous licensed taxis wait for passengers directly at the exit of the port area. From here, you can reach the impressive ruins of Stari Bar or the famous olive groves of the surrounding area quickly and easily.
Water taxi
Water taxis are regularly available at the harbor basin to transport visitors to picturesque beaches such as Sutomore or Queens Beach. This mode of transport provides a wonderful view of the rugged coastline and ensures a maritime experience.

Stari Bar

King Nikola's Palace & Promenade
Located directly on the water, the former residence now houses a museum and is surrounded by a magnificent park, while the adjacent, palm-lined promenade is perfect for a relaxed stroll by the sea thanks to its immediate proximity to the cruise terminal.
Šušanj Beach
This extensive coastal section in the north of the city is a popular destination thanks to its shade-providing pine forests and crystal-clear water; additionally, the shore is easily accessible on foot or via a short drive and is ideal for a restorative break under the Montenegrin sun.
Stari Bar
The historic ruined city of Stari Bar is located about fifteen minutes' drive from the port at the foot of the Rumija Mountains and offers a fascinating journey through time with Venetian and Ottoman influences. The extensive site impresses with its well-preserved fortress walls and also offers a spectacular panoramic view over the green hinterland and the coast. Right in front of the entrance, the charming, cobblestone alley with its flower-decorated cafes and small handicraft shops invites you to linger. Ideally, visit this magical place in the morning to enjoy the mystical atmosphere in peace and return relaxed for a stroll along the harbor promenade around midday.
Thanks to the central location of the Port of Luka Bar, the return journey to the ship is very straightforward and leaves you plenty of time for last-minute souvenir shopping in town.
Taxi
Numerous taxis wait at central locations such as the Robna kuća department store or the main train station and will take you comfortably and affordably directly to the port terminal. Simply speak to the staff in the restaurants at Šušanj Beach to call a vehicle for the short ride back to the ship.
On Foot
From the modern city center and the lively waterfront promenade, a level footpath leads directly to the port entrance, allowing for a relaxed stroll back on board. Orientation is easy thanks to the cruise ship funnels visible from afar, and the path along the marina also offers a beautiful atmosphere.
Local Buses and Stari Bar
If you are visiting the historic old town of Stari Bar, use the regularly scheduled local buses to the city center or take a taxi directly from the fortress gate for the return journey. The buses stop in the immediate vicinity of the port area and ensure a reliable return before departure thanks to short interval times.
