Traveling by car to the port of Lyngdal is pleasant via the E39 European route, which connects the region with larger cities such as Kristiansand and Stavanger. A direct highway connection allows for a comfortable drive through the picturesque southern Norwegian landscape. Specific Park & Cruise offers directly at the terminal are not explicitly designated for the smaller port, but parking options for short-term and long-term parkers can be found in Lyngdal itself and at local accommodations.

Airplane

The nearest airport for international guests is Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik (KRS), located approximately 89 kilometers from Lyngdal. The journey from the airport to the port takes about 1 hour and 13 minutes by car or transfer. Transfer options include taxis or rental cars directly at the airport. Alternatively, there is a bus connection with a transfer at Kristiansand Rutebilstasjon, with a total travel time of approximately 2 hours and 43 minutes.

Pre-Cruise Hotel & Transfer

For a relaxed embarkation, especially after long flights from the DACH region, we recommend arriving one day before the cruise. Hotels in Kristiansand are a great first point of call, from where you can easily reach Lyngdal by rental car or taxi. There are also charming accommodations in Lyngdal itself, such as the Rosfjord Strandhotell, which provide an ideal base for exploring the region before your cruise. Since the Agnefest Kai is about 2.5 kilometers from the center of Lyngdal, cruise lines often provide shuttle buses for a convenient transfer to the ship.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that you will usually receive a fixed time slot for check-in with your travel documents, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time - depending on the cruise line and destination - is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
