Returning to the ship

Dordrecht, located in the heart of the Netherlands, is a charming destination for river cruises and, thanks to its central location, easily accessible from the DACH region. The berths for river cruise ships are often located in the historic city center, allowing short distances to sights.

Car

Thanks to excellent connections to the Dutch motorway network, you can easily reach Dordrecht. The A16 and A15 motorways intersect near the city, providing direct routes. For travel from Germany, the A16 (E19) is a key artery connecting Dordrecht directly to Rotterdam and Antwerp. Parking options are available in various public parking garages in the city center, such as Drievriendenhof or Spuihaven, which are often within walking distance of the piers. Long-term parking is available there; detailed information about Park & Cruise offers should be requested directly from the cruise line or local providers.

Train

Dordrecht Centraal station is a major transport hub with regular direct connections from many Dutch cities and good links to international ICE services from Germany via Utrecht or Arnhem. From the station, you can easily reach most river cruise berths in the city center on foot in about 10 to 15 minutes, or quickly by local bus or taxi.

Airplane

The nearest major airport is Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTM), located about 25 kilometers north of Dordrecht, allowing for a quick journey. Taxis and public transport (buses and trains with transfers) are available from there for the transfer to Dordrecht, with a travel time of around 30 to 45 minutes. Another option is the larger Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS), which is around 70 kilometers away. From Schiphol, there are direct train connections to Dordrecht Centraal, taking about 50 minutes and guaranteeing a stress-free journey.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly, and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the cruise: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times can change at short notice.
