Returning to the ship

The port of Régua is located in the heart of the Douro Valley and, thanks to its central location, is an ideal starting point for river cruises through the northern Portuguese wine region. The docking points at Cais da Régua are excellently integrated into the city's infrastructure and allow for short distances directly to the ship.

Airplane

Porto Airport (OPO) is the most important gateway for travelers from the DACH region and is regularly served by direct flights from cities such as Frankfurt, Munich, or Zurich. From there, you can reach the port in about 75 minutes of driving time comfortably by taxi, rental car, or via a pre-organized transfer from your cruise line via the highway.

Train

Arriving by train offers a scenic highlight even before the actual start of the cruise, thanks to the famous Linha do Douro. Regular regional connections from Porto Campanhã station lead directly to the centrally located Régua station in just under two hours, which is situated only a few minutes' walk from the ship docks.

Car

Via the well-developed A4 highway from Porto and the subsequent transition to the A24, you can quickly reach the center of Régua. Parking is available on public parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the harbor at Cais da Régua, as well as at various hotels in the surrounding area, which also allow for a relaxed pre-cruise overnight stay in the vineyards.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that with your travel documents, you will generally receive a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port accordingly and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination area—is usually scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the trip: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.
