Nordfjordeid welcomes its guests at the modern SeaWalk, a floating pier that allows ships to dock directly without the need for tendering. Thanks to its central location right at the end of the Eidsfjord, you can reach the picturesque town center from the ship in just a few minutes on foot.

Airplane

For arrival from the DACH region, Ålesund Airport (AES) is the most important international hub and is located approximately 120 kilometers from the port. From there, you can easily reach Nordfjordeid by rental car or public bus in around three to four hours; additionally, the regional Sandane Airport (SDN), just 15 kilometers away, offers fast daily connections via Oslo.

Car

The port is directly connected to the Norwegian trunk road network via the well-developed E39 European route and National Road 15, and can be reached from the direction of Bergen in about five hours and from Oslo in around nine hours. Public parking spaces are available in the town center and near the harbor, and the municipality offers excellent infrastructure for travelers using the port as a starting point for individual tours.

Transfer & Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the idyllic location in the fjord, we recommend arriving the day before with an overnight stay in one of the charming hotels in town to explore the Viking culture and the Sagastad Center in a relaxed manner. Taxi

If you have visited excursion destinations in the surrounding area, you will find taxis directly at the central taxi stand near the Nordfjord Hotell or at the bus station. Local drivers are well-prepared for the departure times of the cruise ships and will bring you safely and directly back to the port entrance.

Shuttle Buses and Public Transport

Organized excursion buses drop you off directly at the port terminal after tours to the Briksdal Glacier or the Geirangerfjord, and regional buses from the company Kringom also stop at the central bus station Nordfjordeid rutebilstasjon. From there, simply take a short stroll back to the pier and enjoy the view of the fjord along the way.

Returning to the ship

The journey back to the ship in Nordfjordeid is particularly relaxed, as the modern cruise terminal directly borders the charming village center and all distances are kept short.

On Foot

Thanks to the central location, you can comfortably reach the Seawalk in just a few minutes' walk from the historic shopping street Eidsgata. The path is flat and safe, leading through the village directly to the striking floating pier, which serves as an ideal landmark at all times and guides you reliably back on board.

Taxi

You will find taxis at the central stand near the Tourist Information as well as at the culture house Sophus Lie in the heart of the town. Shuttle Buses and Public Transport

All excursion buses and regional lines end at the central bus station Nordfjordeid Rutebilstasjon, which is located within direct sight of the cruise ship. From this stop, you simply walk along the well-signposted, barrier-free access path directly back to your ship.
