Returning to the ship

Cartagena de Indias is the gateway to the Colombian Caribbean and features a modern cruise terminal centrally located in the Manga district. Arrival from Europe is traditionally via the international airport, which is just a short drive from the historic Old City and the port.

Airplane

Rafael Núñez International Airport (CTG) is the most important hub for international guests and is located about 7 kilometers from the cruise terminal. Travelers from the DACH region can easily reach Cartagena with a stopover in Bogotá (BOG), Panama City (PTY), or via European hubs such as Amsterdam (AMS) and Madrid (MAD).

Transfer & Taxi

From the airport or downtown hotels, you can reach the Terminal de Cruceros in about 15 to 25 minutes by taxi. Official taxis at the airport operate with a voucher system and fixed rates, ensuring a safe and transparent journey to the port area in the Manga district.

Pre-Cruise Hotel

Due to the long flight time from Europe and the time difference, arriving at least one day before embarkation is recommended. A stay in the historic Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or in the modern Bocagrande district offers a relaxed start to your vacation and can be perfectly combined with a visit to the San Felipe Fortress.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually provide a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the journey: For shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always observe the current announcements and notices on board, as docking and departure times may change at short notice.
