Airplane

Adnan Menderes Airport (ADB) serves as the central gateway to the Aegean and is located approximately 18 kilometers south of the cruise terminal. From the DACH region, Izmir is served by direct flights from cities such as Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich. Thanks to the connection via the D300 highway, you can reach the ship comfortably by taxi or transfer service in about 30 to 40 minutes.

Car & Parking

Travel to the port is excellently signposted via the O-30 and O-31 motorways, as well as the O-5 highway from the direction of Istanbul, leading directly into the city center. Monitored parking areas for short- and long-term parking are available directly at the Alsancak Cruise Terminal. Additionally, numerous parking garages in the adjacent district offer secure parking spaces within a short walking distance of check-in.

Train & Local Transport

Alsancak Railway Station is located in the immediate vicinity of the terminal and is connected to the airport and the surrounding area by the modern IZBAN suburban train at frequent intervals. Furthermore, taxis are available at all times at the station and the port entrance for short transfers, and thanks to the central location, many destinations in the city center can also be easily reached by tram or bus.

Check-in & Embarkation

Please note that your travel documents usually provide a fixed time slot for check-in, which is mandatory for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and keep in mind that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.

The same applies during the journey: for shore excursions, you should be back on board no later than one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the latest announcements and notices on board, as mooring and departure times may change at short notice.

The Alsancak Cruise Terminal is very centrally located and offers travelers first-class connections to the picturesque waterfront promenade as well as the city's historic districts. Thanks to its direct location on the Gulf of Izmir, many sights can be reached conveniently.

On Foot

From the terminal, you can directly reach the famous Kordon waterfront promenade and enjoy the maritime flair during a relaxed stroll. The lively Alsancak district with its numerous shops and cafes is just a few minutes' walk away and invites you to linger.

Tram & Ferry

The modern Konak tram stops in the immediate vicinity of the port exit and takes you quickly to the central Konak Square with its historic Clock Tower. Additionally, passenger ferries from the nearby Alsancak Pier allow for a beautiful crossing to other parts of the city like Karsiyaka, while offering a great view of the skyline.

Taxi & Dolmus

Official taxis wait directly at the terminal exit and take you quickly to destinations such as the historic Kemeralti bazaar or the famous Asansör elevator. Kemeraltı Bazaar & Konak Square

The historic Kemeraltı Bazaar is reachable from the Alsancak cruise port in about ten minutes by taxi or conveniently by modern tram, offering an authentic immersion into the vibrant life of Izmir. Thanks to the winding alleys, the magnificent Kızlarağası Han, and the iconic Clock Tower at Konak Square, you will experience a perfect blend of oriental history and modern Turkish everyday life here. The bazaar also features numerous charming cafes and traditional restaurants, ideal for a relaxed break with a Turkish coffee. It is best to start your tour in the morning to enjoy the pleasant morning atmosphere, and plan your return to the ship about two hours before departure to conclude the excursion in a relaxed manner.

Returning to the ship

The Alsancak cruise port is located very centrally within the city area, allowing you to make your return journey from the most important sights and squares short and relaxed.

On foot via the Kordon Promenade

From Konak Square with its famous Clock Tower, simply stroll along the busy Kordon waterfront promenade directly back to the port gate. Thanks to the wide pedestrian zones and the constant view of the sea, this path is very easy to navigate and also offers a safe and pleasant atmosphere for the walk back to the terminal.

Taxi

Yellow taxis can be found at designated stands at the Kemeraltı Bazaar, at Konak Square, and in front of the major hotels in the center. The trip to the Alsancak cruise terminal is short and, thanks to good signage and direct connection to the coastal road, can be carried out comfortably and on time.

Tram and Ferry

The modern tram line connects Konak Square directly with the port district and takes you easily to the Atatürk Spor Salonu stop in the immediate vicinity of the terminal. In addition, passenger ferries run regularly between the Konak and Alsancak piers, allowing you a stress-free return and also a beautiful view of your ship from the water.
