The modern, underground Gare de Monaco-Monte-Carlo station offers excellent connections and is located just a few minutes' drive from Port Hercule. Thanks to regular regional connections from Nice or Ventimiglia as well as long-distance connections via the French TGV, you can reach the cruise terminal relaxed and enjoy a first view of the famous backdrop upon arrival.
Car
Arrival is via the French A8 motorway and exits 56 or 58, which lead you directly into the well-signposted urban area of Monaco. Secure parking spaces are available directly at the port in the Parking de la Digue or Parking des Pêcheurs parking garages; additionally, the short distances in the Principality allow for comfortable luggage drop-off directly at the quay wall.
Check-in & Embarkation
Please note that your travel documents usually include a fixed time slot for check-in, which is binding for your embarkation. Plan sufficient time for your journey to the port and take into account that the latest embarkation time—depending on the cruise line and destination—is generally scheduled about one hour before the planned departure.
The following also applies during the voyage: for shore excursions, you should be back on board at least one hour before departure. Always pay attention to the current announcements as well as the notices on board, as docking and departure times can change at short notice.

Thanks to its central location, you can reach the famous Place du Casino or the historic Old Town on the Rock in about 15 to 20 minutes. Bateau Bus
The solar-powered Bateau Bus water taxi regularly crosses the harbor basin and conveniently connects the pier with the Quai des États-Unis on the opposite side. This short crossing also offers an excellent perspective of the luxurious yachts in Port Hercule and is a particularly pleasant way to get around.
Taxi & City Buses
Official taxis are available directly at the harbor exit and take guests quickly to more distant destinations such as the Exotic Garden or to Fontvieille. In addition, visitors use the modern scheduled buses of the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco, which connect the harbor directly with all important districts and enable an efficient exploration of the city.
To make the most of your stay in the world's second-smallest state, a walk through the history-steeped Old Town and the glamorous center around the famous Casino is highly recommended.

This location is particularly valuable for cruise guests, as it combines the historical heart of the Principality with the Prince's Palace and the Cathedral, while also offering spectacular panoramic views of the ship docked in the harbor. Thanks to the charming, car-free alleys, you can enjoy an exclusive atmosphere here with first-class cafes and well-maintained parks such as the Jardins Saint-Martin. Ideally, plan your visit for the morning to experience the traditional Changing of the Guard at 11:55 AM, and stroll back to the harbor at your leisure in the early afternoon.
The way back to Port Hercule or Nouvelle Digue is extremely relaxed and safe thanks to Monaco's compact size and excellent infrastructure.
Bateau Bus and City Buses
The electric Bateau Bus shuttles connect the Quai des États-Unis with the opposite side of the harbor, offering a picturesque crossing directly to the cruise terminal. Additionally, local bus lines 1 and 2 stop regularly at stations near the port, allowing for a convenient return from the Old Town or the Casino.
Taxi
Central taxi ranks are located directly at Place du Casino, as well as at the railway station and in front of major luxury hotels like the Hotel de Paris. Thanks to the short distances within the Principality, you can reach the port terminal in just a few minutes and use the ride safely for a punctual return to the ship.
On Foot
The way back to the harbor is easy to manage thanks to clear signage and numerous public elevators and escalators. From the Old Town on the Rock, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll downhill towards the harbor basin, following the secured pedestrian paths directly to the terminal building.
