Important information for your voyage (update: 2nd February 2023):

• Booking depending on the destination depends on permanent residence: Some countries have imposed international travel restrictions that mean not all MSC voyages are yet available to all guests and accordingly embarkation may be denied depending on the destination and permanent residence (see > hidden underneath every destination information. Your country of residence must be the same as indicated in your cruise booking and travel documents. You may be required to provide proof of residency at embarkation if you are in possession of a non-European passport.
  
  
• COVID-19 insurance recommended or for South America mandatory: A COVID-19 insurance is no longer mandatory for new bookings since 1st July 2022 though it is still recommended. For South America voyages, insurance that also covers COVID-19 risks is mandatory.
  
  
• Entry registrations: Among others for Israel (within 48 hours prior departure of the ship).
  
  
• Web check-in & health questionnaire: Please complete the web check-in at latest 24 hours prior departure and print out the travel documents as well as the mandatory health questionnaire. The health questionnaire needs be completed within 6 hours prior the embarkation. At the day of the embarkation, please get to the check-in at the indicated time on your cruise ticket.
  
  
• Basic embarkation requirements for which the original proofs must be carried at embarkation, in the ports of call and at local attractions:
  
  
  • Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Saudi Arabia & Red Sea, South Africa, Antilles, Dubai/Abu Dhabi/Qatar: A full vaccination protection (at least 2 vaccine doses or 1 vaccine dose in the case of Johnson & Johnson; COVID-19 recovery + 1 vaccine dose) is recommended. For vaccinated guests, the presentation of a COVID-19 test is additionally recommended; unvaccinated guests, guests without valid proof of vaccination as well as persons that have recovered from COVID-19 and without a vaccination aged from 5 years onwards must present a certified RT-PCR or antigen rapid test (personal data of the guest, date of the test, identification/contact data of the test center, test procedure used as well as negative test result) performed within 48 hours prior to embarkation. As required by local authorities, unvaccinated or from COVID-19 recovered guests 5 years of age and older must be tested (on board for €25 per person) 24 or 48 hours (depending on testing procedures) prior to calling Barbados, St. Maarten, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
    
    
  • South America: Full vaccination coverage (at least 2 vaccine doses with Anvisa, WHO or EMA approved vaccine or 1 vaccine dose in the case of Johnson & Johnson no later than 14 days prior to cruise; vaccination certificate must include at least traveler's name and trade name or manufacturer's name, doses administered and date of administration) is recommended. For cruises of less than 6 nights, vaccinated guests are additionally recommended to present a COVID-19 test; unvaccinated guests 3 years of age and older will need to present a certified RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test (guest's personal information, date of test, identification/contact information of testing center, test procedure used, and negative test result) performed within 24 hours prior to embarkation. For cruises of 6 nights or more, all guests 3 years of age or older, regardless of the vaccination status, require a certified RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test performed within 24 hours to prior to embarkation. In accordance with local Uruguayan regulations, all unvaccinated guests 6 years of age and older must also present an RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test no more than 72 hours prior to arrival in Uruguay; the antigen rapid test can be performed on board for $25 per person.
    
    
  • Caribbean: A full vaccination protection (at least 2 vaccine doses from Pfizer, Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca; CoviShield; Sinopharm, Sinovac, Coronavac, Novavax/Covovax or 1 vaccine dose in the case of Johnson & Johnson; COVID-19 recovery + 1 vaccine dose) is recommended by MSC Cruises, however, depending on current entry regulations, full vaccination protection may be required by local authorities for entry into the USA. MSC Cruises also no longer requires COVID-19 testing for most cruises departing from U.S. ports, except for cruises calling at Colombia (vaccinated guests: COVID-19 testing additionally recommended; unvaccinated guests 5 years of age and older must provide a certified RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test (guest's personal information, date of test, test center identification/contact information, test procedure used, and negative test result) performed within 3 days prior to embarkation).
    
    
  • Grand Voyages and World Cruise: All guests 12 years of age and older require full vaccination coverage (at least 2 vaccine doses of a WHO or alternatively an approved vaccine in the country of destination or 1 vaccine dose in the case of Johnson & Johnson.). All guests 5 years of age and older, regardless of the vaccination status, also require a certified RT-PCR test or antigen rapid test performed within 48 hours prior to embarkation (guest's personal information, date of test, test center identification/contact information, test procedure used and negative test result).
    
  
  
• Shore leave: Individual shore excursions are currently possible based on the local conditions (that may change at short notice).
  
  
• Mouth and nose protection: The wearing of a mouth-nose protection is strongly recommended. Should the applicable regulations of the local health authorities or the ports called upon require mouth and nose protection, the recommendation can also be converted into a mandatory requirement. On land, local regulations always apply. According to the guidelines of the Italian authorities, FFP2 masks are mandatory for all guests during bus transfers. Subject to necessary changes on board and in the destinations.
  
  
• Re-entry into Germany: When entering Germany from abroad, all travelers aged 12 years and older have no longer an obligation to furnish proof of negative testing based on the Ordinance on Coronavirus Entry Regulations since 1st June 2022. After a stay in a foreign virus-variant area within the last 10 days before return, a special test and quarantine obligation must be observed. Please kindly check the current regulations prior your trip.
  
  
• Recommendation: Pandemic-related changes of hygiene, test, vaccination or entry requirements may occur shortly prior departure. We recommend to check the current regulations for travelers and returnees in time prior departure.

Stateroom numbers: Stateroom numbers are always confirmed by MSC Cruises under reserve, MSC Cruises reserves the right to change cabin numbers after the booking.

Required travel documents by MSC Cruises: Every passenger has to have a valid passport whose validity is still given 6 months after the trip. For all cruises that only call ports in the EU including Norway and Iceland, German citizens only require identity cards with a validity of 6 months after the trip. All children aged 16 years and younger must present a child passport with a photograph and a validity of 6 months after the trip.
