• Please note that all guests need to have a proof of an insurance covering COVID-19 risks (e.g. cancellation of the cruise, repatriation costs, quarantine, medical support, costs for hospital stays). This policy is also valid for fully-vaccinated and from COVID-19 recovered persons.
  
  
• Proof upon embarkation: The proof (e.g. certificate) has to be presented upon check-in in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish and has contain the following details: insurance company, covered amount, insured persons, details of the covered COVID-19 risks. Passengers without these documents can be refused embarkation.
  
  
• For example, you can book the MSC COVID-19 additional insurance by MSC Cruises (CCP01) directly here on Seascanner (box: Special Services). The insurance can be booked immediately with the booking or at the latest 30 days before departure and exclusively by guests residing in Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

Important information for your voyage (update: 14th April 2022):

• Please note, that MSC Cruises at the moment only embarks guests with a permanent residence in the following countries: Schengen associated countries (Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary) as well as Bulgaria, Romania, Cyprus, Croatia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel and the USA.
  
  
• Web check-in/travel documents: Please complete the web check-in at latest 24 hours prior departure and print out the travel documents as well as the health questionnaire. The embarkation will be organized in pre-given time slots and you will require the embarkation form and the mandatory health questionnaire among other documents.
  
  
• COVID-19 insurance for voyages including summer 2023: Please note that you need to furnish proof of an insurance covering COVID-19 risks, the proof needs to be shown upon embarkation. If this is the case for your chosen voyage, you find more information in "Embarkation requirement for all voyages including summer 2023".
  
  
• Proof required: Guests aged 2 years and older require a maximum 48 hours antigen rapid test or PCR test, alternatively fully vaccinated (last dose 14 days prior departure) and fully from COVID-19 recovered (maximum 180 days, fully recovered with 1 vaccination dose also accepted) persons can present the EU COVID-19 certificate. Accepted vaccinations are Biontech/Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson. The proof in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish language must be presented in the original form and printed/digital and contain pre-given information such as personal details of the tested person, date of the test, information on the test center, the kind of test, negative test result (needs to be clearly stated).
  
  
• Shore leave: Individual shore excursions are currently possible again according to local conditions. For some excursions, an official COVID certificate is required for access to certain facilities (e.g. museums, churches, etc.) or for participation in events.
  
  
• Re-entry into Germany: When entering Germany from abroad, all travelers aged 12 years and older have an obligation to furnish proof of negative testing based on the Ordinance on Coronavirus Entry Regulations. After a stay in a foreign high-risk or virus-variant area within the last 10 days before return, a special registration, verification and quarantine obligation must be observed (high-risk area: proof of vaccination/recovery exempts you from quarantine right after the upload of the proof, proof of testing reduces the minimum quarantine to 5 days, quarantine automatically ends after the fifth day following entry into Germany for children between 6-12 years). Please kindly check the current regulations prior your trip.
  
  
  
• Recommendation: Pandemic-related changes of test, vaccination or entry requirements may occur shortly prior departure. We recommend to check the current regulations for travelers and returnees in time prior departure.

Required travel documents by MSC Cruises: Every passenger has to have a valid passport whose validity is still given 6 months after the trip. For all cruises that only call ports in the EU including Norway and Iceland, German citizens only require identity cards with a validity of 6 months after the trip. All children aged 16 years and younger must present a child passport with a photograph and a validity of 6 months after the trip.
