About Phoenix Reisen
Phoenix Reisen stands for a classic cruise experience. The main onboard language is German because most of the passengers are German. Guest like events as the captians dinner, the coffee party and the morning pint. Many passengers became regular guest onboard Phoenix cruise ships.
Since the "MS Artania" sails for Phoenix Reisen she went through a series of modernizations. Today it is safe to say that - though built in 1984 - she is still a modern and beautiful ship. A unique feature for a ship of this size is the fact that all staterooms are exterior cabins - inside staterooms do not exist.
With a length of 231 meters she accommodates up to 1.200 passengers. This means a lot of space per guest. In 1984 the vessel was christened "Royal Princess" by Lady Diana. Since 2011 she is named "Artania" and is Phoenix Cruises' largest ship.
Language on board
German is the only language officially used on this ship. Therefore most of the guests are from the German speaking countries. Even though there is usually personnel on board who speaks English no services in English (menus, tours, etc.) are provided. It is therefore strongly recommended to speak a bit of German when travelling on the MS Artania.
All staterooms are exterior cabins. About 50% of the 600 staterooms are Junior Suites or Suites with private balcony. The smallest cabins have a size of 16m² while the Royal Suite provides a space of 50m². The comfortable standard cabins feel very spacious, because during the day the crew will fold away one of the beds into the wall for you, while the second bed is converted into a sofa. Furthermore there is lots of space in wardrobe and shelves to store your belongings. All staterooms are equipped with satellite-TV, radio, individually controllable air-conditioning, telephone, fridge/mini-bar, safe, shower or bath tub, WC and hairdryer. Bathrobes are provided.
