The German tour operator Phoenix Reisen was founded in 1973. In 1988 they chartered the Maxim Gorkiy and started sailing the oceans. At the beginning Phoenix Reisen was a pure high sea cruise line but expanded its range in 1993 to include the popular river cruises. Only a few ships have as many regular customers as the ships of Phoenix Reisen. Thanks to the friendly and familiar atmosphere on board also new customers and cruise newcomers feel at home . In addition to the ocean-going vessels, there are a few smaller vessels for exceptional sailing and numerous river boats. Language on board of the Phoenix ships is German.

For a good middle-class ship the cabins of the M/S Albatros are very spacious and comfortably furnished. All cabins are equipped with bathtub or shower / WC, on-board radio, satellite TV, safe, telephone, air conditioning and hair dryer. A seating area with side table, dressing table and plenty of storage space ensure comfort on board. The cabin service brings drinks and breakfast to your cabin on request. Guests of the suites and comfort cabins can also take advantage of the Silver or Gold service. The cabin sizes range from approx. 12 sqm (small interior cabin) to approx. 18 sqm for the comfort outside cabins up to 60 sqm in the "Captain's Suite".

The dress code aboard the Albatros is casual. Elegant and festive clothing is only recommended for festivities such as the Captain's Dinner. Please kindly note that wearing swimwear or sportwear is not allowed in the public areas inside the ship. For the shore excursions, we recommend comfortable clothing and shoes.

A day aboard the MS Albatros begins with a rich breakfast that you can either enjoy on your cabin or you can visit the ample breakfast buffet. At lunchtime, you can help yourself to the lunch buffet or dine à la carte. For the small appetite in between, the popular afternoon coffee and tea will be served. Sweet temptations made by the master confectioner await you here. The dinner convinces with a varied menu. Your seats in the restaurant are reserved for you for the duration of the cruise and a common table time will allow you to enjoy your lunch and dinner without rushing. If you like, you also can get a small midnight snack. The culinary icing on the cake of every classic cruise is the festive Captain's Dinner with exquisite menus.

The entertainment on board ranges from captain's reception to ballroom dancing, to bingo or to colorful revues and shows as the sun sets in the evening ... Or would you rather enjoy the starry sky with a cocktail on deck? Whichever you choose, the M/S Albatros offers the right options for every taste. If you like to do sports there are many possibilities, so you can enjoy the fine kitchen without a guilty conscience: After volleyball or shuffleboard, golf tee or fitness training or a few laps in the pool, you can find relaxing hours in the wellness area that offers sauna, steam bath, solarium or a beauty salon.
